. The first chapter was definitely captivating! The rest of the book did not disappoint, either, with its rich tapestry of humor, colorful characters, and a very satisfying mystery. Dianne’s gift for describing settings, people and emotions has really come to fullness in this book. It’s just a perfect length for a fun little escape of the mind, while at the same time gets you thinking of all the people we meet who tread on the Darkside, and yet yet we love them still the same.Tags : Amazon.com: An Unconventional Mr. Peadlebody (9781533279040): D. An Unconventional Mr Peadlebody D L Gardner Books Reviews
I received this book for an honest review.
I was pleasantly surprised at the refreshing and unconventional 😉 storyline of this book. I love all vampire novels and this one really blew me away. Definitely a different take on the whole vampire scene, which is very nice to see. The writer really opened up a light and slightly comedic world of vampires, elves and gorgons, which sucked me in. I personally loved the tenacious search for a cure of vampirism that one of the characters labors throughout the story. The twist of how the curse may be broken is both sweet and delightfully unique. The silliness and hilarious absurdities are abundant and much appreciated in this cute story of the world beyond mortals.
The reader Brad Willis is absolutely amazing and really made the whole story pop and sizzle. It was like there was an entire cast of characters, he really brought them all to life with his amazing voice work.
The Unconventional Mr. Peadlebody by D. L. Gardner is quite an interesting tale about dysfunctional vampires. It is a great tale, with even a nicer plot that will keep you glue to it’s pages. I enjoyed the characters and their quirky personalities. It is a wholesome tale and would be enjoy by the whole family.
Raymond wants a normal life, he doesn't want to be a half vampire and his mother is trying everything to make it happen for both of them. His grandfather is dead and so is his father. His uncle inherited the Peadlebody Mansion and, with it, the library and all his father's diaries. Who would want those diaries and why and would they kill to obtain them? These are some of the mysteries that await readers as they peruse this tale. Nice writing of a good story and the telling.
This story is completely different than any other vampire books out there. In a sense, it is quite refreshing and fresh in that genre. The characters are well developed and fun to get to know and cheer on. All in all, a good read for a winter's night by the fire.

I wasn't sure where this book was going to take me but I can honestly say I enjoyed the story.
A half blood vampire who doesn't want to be a vampire is what caught me in the story. You see Raymond wants a normal life for not only himself but for his mother as well. He doesn't want anything at all to do with his deceased father's family estate. Raymond's mother is a bit strange and will try everything under the sun to undo the curse that has been bestowed on her and her son, even go hunting for frogs which had me laughing. Gerald who knows he never made his father happy when he was alive will uncover something sinister going on with the death of his father! Though will he be able to handle the truth behind his father's death and can he stop what else is going on in the town with the statues.
I liked Raymond as a character he really does try to be normal and hide what he is so when he falls in love I just kept hoping he would be able to find someone who would like him for who he is. Because honestly Raymond doesn't seem like a bad guy. Now yes this story deals with vampires and the paranormal but it is not gruesome like other stories with vampires. It is just a simple story with a good plot. I really like the way the author did the background with the statues that was a neat idea to put in there.
Not much else I can say except check this story out!
An interesting book A reluctant vampire. A dysfunctional family. Chipmunks, squirrels, and a suspicious butler. I enjoyed the story but skim read some of it. Raymond's love life struck me as somewhat slightly farfetched, and I wanted more of the library, and more of the elusive real estate agent. But other than wanting more, it is an enjoyable tale, just some edges need rounding off with a few more words.
I really enjoyed the book....fun characters!
By the end of the book, I liked all of the characters and with out spoiling the plot...I enjoyed the ending, and it left me wanting more!
Enjoyed a book that have an interesting twist about Vampires and the supernatural. Took a very different angle on how the different types of supernatural races interacted together.
At first I thought it was going to be another ho him vampire story. After the first few pages I realized the interesting twist D. L. Gardner was weaving into his story. I really enjoyed the character development and a nice twist in the end. I also really enjoyed the Audible version of this book.
