This is story about a young women reaching out for happiness. that ends in a deep loss, only to find a love of her mother she thought she never had. It is a sad story and a real year jerker.
There was one thing I would like for the story to be chapters longer. Loved the way it was written. Shows us how short life is. So interesting and heartfelt. Thanks
A young woman living at home with her family had tired of caring for her siblings and wanted someone to love her for herself answered an advertisement for a Bride from a man in California. A free writing for a while she went west to be with her young husband who was wonderful to her and showed her off to all. He worked in a bank and was wounded trying to save others. A must read for those who enjoy historical western romance kindle books from at a special price and from a duo of authors who keep me entertained throughout the entire book before putting it down.
The book started on a good note and progressed with great potential, but somewhere along the way the author deserted the hea concept for mother and daughter happiness. I love mail order bride books and how they get their happy endings. This is the first book I've read where it went off the rails near the end. No hea. Just a story about a girl seeking happiness that maybe she'll find in the future. I will never know since the author decided to flip the script literally. I prefer love connections not sad unfinished stories. For that reason, I cannot continue this series.
Katie Wyatt & Kat Carson, are 2 of my favorite writers. They write clean nice books with very good endings. I was really enjoying this book until almost the end. I was shocked, when the character that made the main character the happiest died. I can't even comment on the parts that I liked because I hardly remember them. I very much like happy endings. If I wanted to read sad things I would read biographies or the news paper. I will not read any more of this series. If it wasn't for the ending I would have given it a higher rating. Very sad ending.
I really enjoyed reading this short story. She does find that her mother loves her -but then it just ends.
A love story to tug at your heart strings. Enjoy and appreciate each new day as it is given because no one knows what tomorrow brings.
